Vertical landscaping
Vertical landscaping is a composition consisting of plants and supports for it: walls, fences, special vertical supports, arches. Vertical landscaping has its own rules and benefits where necessary:
- Save space
- Create a shaded recreation area to close the area from prying eyes
- Hide unattractive but necessary areas: barn, trash area, compost pile, retaining wall
- Separate the functional space: recreation area, garden, yard
- Decorate the rest zone, arch or facade of the house
- Protect the area from street dust
- Improve the microclimate of the park thanks to the large area of greenery
- Make the garden greener
There are several ways to achieve these goals. First, the simplest and most familiar to us is planting climbing plants on supports or against walls. The second is the method of arranging vertical flowerbeds. And, finally, the design of phytowalls.
Both annuals and perennials are suitable for vertical landscaping, mainly climbing plants, but also trees, shrubs, ampelous hanging plants and potted flowers are used. These plants regulate the humidity regime on site, create shade, serve as windshields, absorb dust from the area, protect buildings from frost and rain, and in summer they prevent overheating and absorb excess moisture from the walls and foundations of buildings.
Vertical landscaping is one of the best and cheapest ways to make your garden beautiful and comfortable.
